Great cars sports and racing is a survey of classic marques and models from the dawn of motoring to 1980 - from the big engined monsters of the early days to the modern high efficiency units. The text is illuminated throughout with touches of interest to all sports and racing car enthusiasts. It covers cars both lowly and exalted - from the Austin Seven Ulster to the Hispano-Suiza H6C, from the three wheeled Morgan Aero to the most powerful Grand Prix machine ever built.
The book is divided into two sections.
The first half covers in chronological order, sports cars from the Gordon Bennet Mercedes of 1903 to the De Lorean of 1980. The second half is devoted to racing cars from the Panhard-et-Levassor of 1895 to the Renault Turbo of 1979.
Each car is illustrated in full colour. Descriptions of the cars are complimented throughout with additional drawings of details of particular interest.
